Sharing innovative technological solutions with policymakers to accelerate the SDGs
During policy fora, G-STIC presents innovative technological solutions which will move societies and economies onto more sustainable development paths. Best practices and innovative climate solutions are shared with policymakers at different policy fora: the STI Forum (Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the SDGs), the COP (Conference of the Parties) and the CSTD (Commission on Science and Technology for Development) intergovernmental forum.
Multi-Stakeholder Forum on STI
The STI Forum is convened annually by the ECOSOC President and discusses science, technology, and innovation cooperation around different thematic areas for the implementation of the SDGs.
COP (Conference of the Parties)
COP is the decision-making body responsible for monitoring and reviewing the implementation of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
CSTD intergovernmental forum
The CSTD (Commission on Science and Technology for Development) is an intergovernmental forum which discusses science, technology and innovation and how this affects a sustainable future for all.

G-STIC at the STI Forum in 2019
Technological innovations exist all over the world that allow countries to jumpstart sustainable economic development and become market leaders in the emerging green economy. These innovations include wastewater treatment, desalination, mining, carbon capture, to the application of artificial intelligence. Some of these market-ready integrated technological solutions were showcased at the G-STIC event during the STI Forum.
G-STIC at the STI Forum in 2018
At the G-STIC event during the STI Forum, examples were presented of integrated technological solutions that are market-ready and scalable, and can significantly contribute to achieving the SDGs. It provided a unique opportunity for participants to learn more about these practical applications of technological transformations for the SDGs, and to assess the usefulness of their application in their own country.
